About me
HI! My name is Natasha Weir. I'm a 24 year old artist with a passion for cartoons and storytelling. All my life I have been watching cartoons and drawing cartoons, it's really all I know how to do. Currently I am working as a self employed artist and showing my work at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach during the summer. The rest of the year I am at community college trying to get my foot in the door and to learn as much as I can. I have studied at Cottey College where I received my AFA and then transferred to LCAD. I was there for a year in their amazing animation program and loved every minute of it, and I hope to continue pushing toward my dream of working in the animation industry.
Growing up in the small artist colony of Laguna Beach has given be a creative outlook on life and plenty of inspiration in my work. I began my artistic career selling my drawings in my parents booths at the Sawdust when I was 5, and I'm still drawing. Though I have spent most of my life here in southern California, I have spent a few years in Missouri and Virginia which gave me new ideas and where I came up with the concept for the web comic I am currently working on as well as plenty of inspiration. The backwoods creeks and little towns have completely changed me, for the better I believe.
Aside from the current projects I am working on I have illustrated a few children's books in the past, and wrote one myself. Not to mention the numerous illustrations I did for my high school newspaper back in the day.
So take a look around, I hope you like what you see.
